SEDD intensifies inspection campaigns for Eid Al Fitr

The Sharjah Economic Development Department (SEDD) announced its full readiness for Eid Al Fitr by intensifying inspection campaigns across various economic establishments in the emirate.

This initiative aims to secure Sharjah’s markets and guarantee the safety of all economic activities during the festive season.

SEDD’s inspections will encompass food service establishments, retail outlets, associations, men’s and women’s salons, gold markets, and other relevant businesses associated with Eid, such as greeting card stores or tailoring shops.

Hamad Ali Abdalla Al Mahmoud, Chairman of SEDD, emphasised these campaigns’ commitment to safeguarding consumer interests and ensuring market safety. He reiterated the department’s dedication to enforcing regulations, delivering exceptional customer service, and guaranteeing the sale of products meeting specified standards.

Al Mahmoud highlighted the intensified focus on major markets and commercial centres. Inspectors will ensure merchants provide transparent product lists with corresponding prices and offer guidance on legal compliance. Additionally, these campaigns aim to enhance consumer awareness regarding product value.

SEDD also emphasised the importance of consumer participation. Salim Ahmed Al Suwaidi, Deputy Director of the Commercial Control and Protection Department, urged individuals to report any instances of commercial manipulation or fraud. Consumers can contact SEDD via the call centre 80080000, the official website http://sedd.ae/, or the SEDD smart application.
